BCT (Business Chinese Test) Prep Course

The BCT, as an international, standardized test of Chinese language proficiency, focuses on assessing non-native Chinese speakers' abilities to use the Chinese language in real business or common working environments. I. Test Structure

The BCT consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. The writing test is divided into two levels, namely, the BCT (A), and the BCT (B).

II. Test Levels

The different levels of the BCT can meet some of the levels in the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages (CLPS) and the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF), as well as HSK and YCT levels; details are as follows:

III. Test principles

Promote learning through examination: To stimulate the interest and confidence of Chinese learners, and to further expand the scope of exams to meet the practical needs of overseas business Chinese learners and Chinese users in general work situations.

Promote teaching through examination: To provide graded business Chinese task teaching resources and suggestions for teachers and self-learners, facilitating effective teaching and training to improve the ability of business learners and users to communicate in Chinese in real business or general work situations.

Provide positive feedback for test takers: By examining typical business language tasks, evaluating the ability of candidates to complete language tasks, and providing positive feedback for candidates' next steps in learning.

IV. Test Purpose

To evaluate the ability of non-native Chinese-speaking employees (candidates) to use Chinese in daily work for enterprises, and the exam scores can be used as a reference for selection, employment, and promotion.
To provide a reference for the business Chinese proficiency of students in business-related majors for various schools and training institutions, as well as for educational and teaching processes such as class division and credit awarding.
To provide a reference for self-learning and self-evaluation of business Chinese proficiency for learners of business Chinese.

V. Score Report

Test takers will receive their test results for the BCT issued by Center for Language Education and Cooperation after one month after the test.
